Portland Adult Education and YMCA have partnered to offer English language classes for moms through Mom and Me LEAP while their children participate in early care and education.  Sessions for moms and children take place weekly, 9-11am on Mondays and Wednesdays through June. 

Volunteers are needed to assist in the classroom working directly with the moms – Spanish language skills are a plus, but not necessary.  In addition, volunteers are needed to support YMCA’s children’s programming while moms are in class – Spanish and Portuguese language skills are a plus, but not necessary.  Volunteers may provide support on Mondays, Wednesdays or both days and are asked to commit through June 26, if possible.  For more details and/or to sign up contact Women United.
