Women United, a giving circle of United Way of Southern Maine, will celebrate its 5th Anniversary as a membership group with a year-long schedule of engagement and celebration beginning this month.
Special festivities include a 5 Voices for 5 Years Audio Series, 5 Year Anniversary Celebration May 5, and volunteer engagement opportunities throughout the spring, summer and fall season.
Since its inception in February of 2017, Women United members and friends have pledged their support. Their efforts have helped raise over $820,000, creating impact with over 21 investments primarily in Project WIN and programs in Portland’s East Bayside neighborhood.
Women United is an influential force for the advancement of low-income single mothers and their children. Membership includes business, philanthropic and volunteer leaders, who are passionate about the mission and the work. Women United is aligned with Thrive2027 and leverages United Way of Southern Maine’s rich history, resources, knowledge, and relationships to achieve results.
